Killeen
Killarney Golf & Fishing Club, Ireland.
Ok - so I’m slightly biased here. Killeen is the main course at my home club, Killarney Golf & Fishing Club. Bending around Lough Lein, Killeen is a long championship layout, with plenty water lurking for wayward shots. Because of that, the front nine plays harder than the back. The course definitely favours a player who can fade the balls, and watch out for the subtle breaks on the greens.
The course is part of Killarney national park, so you might come across many people out walking. You’ll definitely have an encounter with the many deer who grace the property throughout the year. As you complete the round, make sure to take a moment and marvel in the majestic views, including Ireland’s highest mountain Carrauntoohil, which sits on the horizon watching over your every move.
